Couldn't you have sacrificed a kitchen towel to the cause?

Applying pressure and elevating the wound above your heart is a fact. I took a first aid class. Twice in fact: once in high school and once again in college for some filler credits. Next time, just call me. You don't need an ER.

Although, my first aid certification expired 3 years ago, so you can't hold me liable if you bleed out in your kitchen.shrimp128https://www.blogger.com/profile/02998140189639124238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1647663006874032467.post-3485767628945211792009-07-15T09:17:07.778-07:002009-07-15T09:17:07.778-07:00Loving, great. :) Actually, I did have it elevated...Loving, great. :) Actually, I did have it elevated, but that didn't help too much - just let all the blood run down my arm. I made sure the tape on the gauze was tight to give it pressure, and then did keep it elevated all to the hospital, then they told me to keep it realitively elevated for the nest 24-36 hours. It all worked out.

You know, it's kind of funny - and this is fodder for a future piece - but why don't I know, right? I mean, to a certain extent I do, but when do you really learn this stuff? Not in school, that's for sure. And if you have never taken a first aid class, then all you know is just hearsay, so you have to hope what you do is actual fact and not just an old wive's tale. :)Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12321865399706410702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1647663006874032467.post-4448408569184463032009-07-15T08:50:27.376-07:002009-07-15T08:50:27.376-07:00Don't you know that you're supposed to app...Don't you know that you're supposed to apply pressure and raise the wound above your heart? You're not supposed to let all the blood in your body run out your finger under the faucet. Duh...

-Loving words from your sister. :)shrimp128https://www.blogger.com/profile/02998140189639124238noreply@blogger.com
